Serbian economy in the era of IT technology - international manifestation SEFICT started on May 22, 2006, in Belgrade, 11th JISA congress starts on May 25

Two-day Forum for Information and Communication Technologies of Southeast Europe - SEFICT - started on May 22, 2006, in Belgrade-based hotel "Intercontinental". THe participation in that meeting was confirmed by 80 world biggest companies from this field.

Greeting the conference participants, Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijević pointed to the huge potentials the modern ICT technology offers today to the development of trade and economy sectors in Serbia, adding that exactly that was the main reason why Republic Government decided to back this-year SEFICT.

- I am glad that such a meeting is held in Belgrade and I believe that this conference will contribute to better positioning of Serbia in the world of IT achievements. I am especially happy with the fact that the representatives of many world companies recognized their interest and decided to appear on this Belgrade-based manifestation. I hope that all this will result in many important business contacts and that the small and mid-sized enterprises will have big benefit from that. The information networking and preparation for these operations is necessary for the aforementioned enterprises - said Dimitrijević.

According to the words of general secretary of SEFICT, Đorđe Dukić, in the scope of that two-day meeting, there will be two significant round table, the first of which is dedicated to education and the role the ICT technology can have in all that, whereas the other named "Management of resources of enterprises with help of modern information technologies" is designed to help managers of small and mid-sized enterprises.

During this meeting, as it was announced, big number of presentations will take place. The products, services and achievements will be represented by companies "Allied Telesyn" from Austria, "Cisco", "Ibis Sys" from Australia, Greek "i-Apply Lending Originating Software System", "Digitalk" from Italy, "Euronet", "Gord System" from Macedonia and others.

Following SEFICT, the 11th JISA Congress will be organized on the same location. This Congress is primarily dedicated to the role of the modern technologies in the process of education and the work of educational institutions.
