– EPS is dedicated to investments in the construction of power plants which use renewable energy sources, and this way, we are strengthening our production portfolio and our position in the market and we are actively supporting all investors in RES. EPS will take all the electrical energy produced, the energy stays in Serbia, and the price of the buyout and the balancing is set on market principles, which gives an incentive to investors and enables EPS to make an additional profit. This energy will also provide a considerable additional security when it comes to the operations of our electrical energy system and the supply of the citizens and companies – said Dusan Zivkovic, the general manager of EPS, according to the press release.
He pointed out that, in both auction rounds, new power of 850 megawatts from wind and solar had been secured and that EPS, with the investors that had taken part in the two auction rounds and other independent producers in Serbia, already had an additional 2.6 gigawatts of installed capacities from renewable sources at that moment.

– In 2028, that power will be increased by 1 GW from self-balancing power plants that we are developing with our strategic partner and we then expect the production from RES to reach 50 percent of the total production of electrical energy – added Zivkovic.
Fugi Jou, founder and owner of the companies Windvision Windfarm A and Windvision Windfarm B, said that the wind farm projects Alibunar 1 and Alibunar 2 were of great importance for the company and that it was the first project in Serbia:
– We know you have the RES potential, especially in wind energy, and that it pays off to invest in Serbia. We hope that there will be similar projects in the future as well and we expect a successful cooperation with local partners on boosting the energy security of the country.
