In 2027, Serbia will host the specialized EXPO, and on that occasion, a new fairgrounds and facilities for the international specialized exhibition, as well as 1,500 residential units and a national stadium, are being built on 150 hectares in Surcin.

The stadium will take up around 32 hectares of land, whereas 25 hectares is meant for the expo space, and the rest of the land will feature hotels and residential and auxiliary facilities.

The complex is planned as a multifunctional space, and many present it as “a small city.” In addition to exhibition spaces, it will also feature accompanying commercial and accommodation capacities, which are supposed to secure logistics support.

You can read about what is planned in a separate article.

Let us remind that, in 2023, Serbia was selected to be the host of the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2027, having won all four rounds of voting at the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau (Bureau International des Expositions – BIE) in Paris.

The progress of the works can be seen in the video.
