The project of the Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin” was the topic of the meeting between the minister of economy of Serbia, Adrijana Mesarevic, and representatives of the Chinese company CRBC.

As Mesarevic explained on her Instagram profile, she had “a constructive talk” with the Chinese delegation about the steps toward the implementation of the project.

She also announced that the management of CRBC would visit Serbia not long after, for the purpose of more detailed talks about the investment.

– A large number of companies have expressed an interest in starting their business in this park precisely and, today, I talked to the management of the company about their upcoming arrival to our country so that we would talk in detail about investing in our Serbia – it is said on the Instagram profile of the deputy prime minister.

The construction of this park, a project which is jointly realized by the Government of Serbia and the Chinese state company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), has been announced for years.

The Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin” is planned as one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Serbia. In 2018, the Ministry of Finance signed the agreement on the construction of this park with CRBC in Beijing. Then, in November 2019, those in charge announced that the construction of the industrial park in Borca should begin at the end of March 2020 and added that the financing of the project had been discussed at the meeting with representatives of the Bank of China, which had confirmed that it would finance all the companies arriving from China to the industrial park. However, the coronavirus pandemic followed.

Located on the left-hand bank of the Danube, near the Pupin Bridge, the park will spread on an area of 320 hectares, with an additional 180 hectares meant for the accompanying infrastructure, encompassing more than 500 hectares in total. The project is a result of cooperation between the Government of Serbia and CRBC, and its realization is planned in three phases.
