All wind generators of first EPS wind farm mounted

The final, 20th wind generator of the first wind farm of Elektroprivreda Srbije in Kostolac, with a power of 66 megawatts, has been mounted. At the same time, all the solar panels at the solar power plant Petka have been installed, and by the end of May, we expect it to be connected to the grid, Dusan Zivkovic, the general manager of EPS, said on RTS.

He pointed out that those were two important investment projects which would improve the production portfolio of EPS with green energy, EPS announced.

– The production of electrical energy and the supply of the citizens and the corporate sector are stable, as was the case the whole winter. At the thermal power plant sites, we have reserves of 1.7 million tons of coal, whereas the reservoirs are at a level of 400 GWh. In the next month, the aim is to increase the reserves at the sites by 10% and at the reservoirs by 20% – said Zivkovic. The head of EPS emphasized that the newly built block B3, with a power of 350 megawatts, in Kostolac, operated with stability and contributed considerably to stability in terms of electrical energy and that, at that moment, within the guarantee deadline, the flaws were being addressed so that the block would be the backbone for the next 30 to 40 years. Zivkovic also explained that there were intensive efforts toward the preparation of technical documentation and securing the financing for the project of the construction of the pumped-storage HPP Bistrica and that the preparations for the necessary infrastructural works had begun.
