Serbia paid the second installment of the advance payment of EUR 411.75 million for the purchase of new French Rafale fighter jets today, “15 days before the deadline”, according to the minister of finance, Sinisa Mali.

– The first installment of the advance payment, in the same amount, was paid in October last year, and with today’s payment, the entire advance payment of 30% for the purchase of Rafales has been paid – Mali wrote on Instagram.

The agreement on the purchase of 12 fighter jets, worth EUR 2.7 billion, was signed at the end of August last year in Belgrade, in the presence of the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the president of France, Emmanuel Macron.

As announced earlier, the first planes will be delivered to Serbia in 2028, and the remaining part within less than two years from then.
