Very interesting round table in the pipeline - Commercial courts : to reform or to disestablish ?"


Ekonomist Media Group announced very interesting round table “Commercial Courts: to reform or to disestablish?”, which will be held in the hall of Belgrade-Budva hotel Hyatt Regency on May 30, 2006, in Belgrade.
Some of the topics for discussion at the Round table are :
- What is the situation in the commercial judiciary and what is the situation in other courts ? Are efficiency, responsibility or transparency characteristics of our Commercial Court?
- If the reform starts, who will feel it the most and in what way?
- Is disestablishment of courts necessary and is it allowed by the Law?
- Will limited mandates of the judges result in introduction of politics in the courts and in what way?
The chairman of the Round table is Milo Stevanovic, the manager of the Project Commercial Court Administration Strengthening Activity (CCASA) financed by USAID.
Invited panel speakers are: Zoran Stojković, Minister of Justice, Government of Republic of Serbia; Mlađan Dinkić, Minister of Finance, Government of Republic of Serbia; Vida Petrović-Škero, president of Supreme Court; Patricia Gannon, partner, Karanović & Nikolić; Dragiša Slepčević, Supreme Court judge; Radomir Lazarević, president of Higher Commercial Court; Miša Brkić, deputy of editor-in-chief, Ekonomist magazine.
