Another 10 million EUR from the budget reserve for the highway in the Republic of Srpska

RSD 1.18 billion (slightly over EUR 10 million) were provided from the budget reserve of Serbia for the co-financing of the section of the Raca-Bijeljina highway. This 20 km-long section, is financed by the Government of Serbia and the Government of Republic of Srpska. This is the second time that Serbia has given money to Srpska for the aforementioned section.

The Raca-Bijeljina highway section is an integral part of the future Vukosavlje-Brcko-Bijeljina-Raca highway with a total length of about 70 km. The Director of PUC Highways of Republika Srpska Nedeljko Coric told the Radio Television of Republic of Srpska in mid-last year that Republika Srpska provided most of the funds for this section, while Serbia invested about EUR 10 million in this project.

- We expect another donation of EUR 10 million for the construction of this section - said Coric. That exact amount arrived from Serbia's budget reserve on March 12.

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, once said that the road costs BAM 258 million, and that Srpska has already paid BAM 100 million of its own funds for the construction of the section.

The bridge over the Sava River on that section was financed by the Government of Serbia, and the integrated border crossing will also be built in Serbia.

As announced, the deadline for the works is 2026.
