Connecting of Sokobanja with Belgrade-Nis highway begins

The works on connecting Sokobanja with the Belgrade-Nis highway have started, the president of the Municipality of Sokobanja, Miodrag Nikolic, said for the Politika daily at the new construction site.

– The expansion and rehabilitation of the state road no. 158 and the connecting with the traffic route 217, that is, with the main road from Aleksinac to Sokobanja, near the Subotinac village, have started. This section is 5.5 kilometers long, and the deadline for the completion of the construction is 60 days – said Nikolic.

He added that the whole job would be completed in 2025.

Parallel with the works on the expansion of this section, but also other existing regional road routes, the preparation of the planning documentation for the entire road from Sokobanja to Rutevac is well on its way. As said earlier, most probably, near this Aleksinac-area village, on “the old highway”, the new Rutevac Interchange for entering and exiting the Belgrade-Nis highway will be built.
