In the year behind us, Serbia ranked first in Europe according to the growth rate of tourist arrivals and overnight stays, primarily foreign guests, and the income from foreign guests was also record high. Mountain centers in Serbia are attracting more and more tourists, as well as spas and urban destinations. According to statistics, the number of guests from Europe and Asia is also increasing. Tourism officials in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina boast of good statistical indicators when it comes to the number of guests and overnight stays.
From year to year the tourist offer in these three countries is increasingly enriched with hotels and other hospitality and tourist facilities of high category, and those famous hotels, that have been operating for years in our region, additionally invest in their content, offer, as well as in employees,
which are one of their most important brands.
Apart from that, there are more and more tourist contents for guests from the country and abroad who have more specific wishes and needs. And not only at the sea, in the mountains and in the spas but also in urban centers in the region.
Thus, when you say rural tourism, it is no longer just about accommodation in a rural household and enjoying home-made food and wonderful landscapes, but at the same time about the offer which has been enriched with more luxurious amenities for guests with additional requirements.
It is known that the mountains are also one of the main tourist resources of this region. Some of them are already well-known and highly visited tourist centers, while the other part still falls into the category of underutilized tourist gems. In order for some of those mountain beauties to be on the map of adventurers as much as possible in the future, innovative mountain guides with numerous useful data and information for tourists have also been devised.
On the other hand, those who prefer the sound of the water and the view from it on the landscapes of the region, perhaps should give Lake Skadar a chance and then sail on it in wooden boats through the adjacent regions and through the history of those regions.
What are the latest requests, needs and wishes of the growing number of tourists who visit our places and in what way are tourism workers adapting to them already? What are the motives which are increasingly encouraging investments in the hotel sector and hotel capacities? What are the latest ideas for investing in tourist facilities in the region?
