Non-business days for New Year and Christmas holidays


The forthcoming New Year holiday will be celebrated on January 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2012.
According to the Law on National and Other Holidays in the Republic of Serbia, the New Year is a national holiday and is celebrated on January 1st and 2nd. The Law also stipulates that if one of the days when a national holiday is celebrated is Sunday, the succeeding day is then a non-business day.
Since January 1st and 2nd are Sunday and Monday, Tuesday (3 January 2012) will also be a non-business day.
Pursuant to aforementioned Law, the first day of Christmas - January 7th, is a religious holiday and a non-business day. The 2012 Christmas Day is Saturday, and it is a non-business day.
