German investors open new oil processing factory in the north of Bačka

Subotica's local self-government announced that the investors from Germany want to open units for processing of vegetable oil on the territory of north Bačka.

Minimal annual production in that factory would amount to 30,000 tons of oil. German investors announced possibility of growth to 100,000 tons in the following years.

It was agreed that the potential investors should send their concrete offers for production of oleaceous plants, first of all oilseed rape, within the next 20 days.

Signing of the production contract could take place already in Autumn 2006, after the forming of consortiums of collective farms, which would be the project carriers. Prior to the construction of oil factory in Vojvodina, oilseed rape would be delivered to the unit in Bačmalš.
