Construction of Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline to begin by end-year

It was noted that the Preliminary Design and the Conceptual Project with a Feasibility Study had been developed. Also, the Spatial Plan of the Special Purpose Area has undergone public review and is currently in the adoption procedure.
It was also said that the building permit was expected by the end of the year, alongside the completion of the project and technical documentation. The completion of the work is expected during 2027.
Djedovic Handanovic pointed out that the construction of the oil pipeline between Serbia and Hungary was a significant step toward ensuring a greater security of supplying the domestic market with oil.
– Supply diversification is crucial to our energy security, in both the gas and oil sectors, and the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline will contribute to a long-term supply stability. The progress in the preparation of the project and technical documentation is apparent, whereas expert teams from both countries regularly communicate in order to follow the progress of the project on both sections and coordinate further activities – she said.
