Thus, the clinic in Visegradska Street should soon get renovated and improved capacities. This institution, located in a complex of a cascading building with three (semi-basement, ground floor, upper floor) to nine levels (3 semi-basements, ground floor, 5 upper floors), is planned for a series of reconstruction works.
The works will include the adaptation of operating rooms on the second floor, the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the gynecology polyclinic on the ground floor and on the first floor, as well as the perinatology polyclinic on the ground floor. The maternity ward on the third floor and a part of the attic space will also be adapted.
In addition, renovation and adaptation are planned for the puerperium wards 1 and 2, the cesarean section ward and neonatology, which are located on the third and fourth floors. The surgery wards 1 and 2 and the general gynecology wards, on the first and second floors, will also be completely renovated.
The reconstruction will also include the pregnancy pathology and fertility control departments located on the ground floor and the semi-basement -1, as well as the high-risk pregnancy department located on the same level. The tender also includes the adaptation of the human reproduction department on the ground floor and the renovation of the staff locker rooms, laundry room, entrances and part of the distribution kitchen in the semi-basement -1.
The renovation of patient rooms, outpatient clinics and ancillary rooms is planned for the semi-basement -2, while the skylights, glass partitions, doors and railings on the central staircase of the clinic will also be renovated. In the corridors of the connecting section of the clinic, in addition to vertical communications, new floors will be installed.
Additionally, the pathology and biochemical laboratory departments on the fourth floor will be modernized, and the former boiler room in the semi-basement -2 will be converted into a functional amphitheater. Part of the clinic’s administration, including libraries and supporting rooms, will also be reconstructed.
The total gross area of the existing building is 26,012 m2 (the area covered by the intervention is 20,578 m2). With the newly planned solution, the total gross area of the buildings would be 26,933 m2 (the area covered by the intervention is 21,603 m2).
The increase in the gross area, GFA and net area is a consequence, as stated in the documentation, of the introduction of a mezzanine structure on all floors of the existing skylight from level -2 to 5, as well as the conversion of impassable flat roofs into walkable terraces.
Bids may be submitted by March 25, and more details (in Serbian) can be found HERE.
The reconstruction of this clinic was discussed in 2023, when the then minister of public investments, Marko Blagojevic said that the maternity ward in the GOC Visegradska Street would continue to operate during the reconstruction and that the works would therefore last three years.
– There will be no moving, the facility will operate throughout the works. It will not be ideal, but if we managed to finish the Infectious Diseases department while the fight against the pandemic was ongoing, I think anything is possible. It was necessary to create a plan with the administration in the GOC Visegradska to synchronize the operations of the clinic with the works – Blagojevic said at the time for RTS.
