In October 2004, Government of Montenegro announced that it would sell more than 30 military locations on Montenegrin territory, for the sake of maintenance of Army. According to former information, that is the surface of about 2.5 million square meters. The list of remaining facilities and locations was unknown until recently, when weekly magazine Monitor published it. Monitor was given "List of real estates for the needs of Army that can be put at the disposal of the Fund for Reform of Defense right away". The list was created on August 2, 2004. It contains real estates from the territory of Podgorica's corps, total of 35 locations worth about €40m.
Among others, the facilities and land of barracks Morača in Podgorica, military clubs in Nikšić and Herceg Novi, barracks on Obilić field in Cetinje are for sale, as well as military property that is hard-to-sell, such as warehouses and firing grounds located far away from the settlements.

On the territory of Municipality of Nikšić, warehouses Grudska mala, Kožara, Kuside 1 and 2, firing ground in Kunova and club of Army of SCG are for sale. In Podgorica: barracks Morača, Drač and Zagorič, warehouses in Zagorič, as well as local technical workshop, warehouse in Tološi, as well as firing ground in Bojčin. In Pljevlja: gas station and garage, as well as warehouse in Moćevac.

The sale of following locations is announced: location in Reževići, military territories Brezino and Ubojno, Donji Klinci in Herceg Novi, as well as local club of Army of SCG. In Municipality of Kotor: location Platamuni, Glavati in settlement Muo. The list does not contain neither attractive inlet Valdanos near Ulcinj nor military hospital in Meljine.

Money earned from the sale should serve for maintenance of Army, since there are no other sources for that purpose and Montenegro is obliged, according to Constitution, to support the army settled on its territory. There are 6,800 soldiers on the territory of Montenegro, of which supporting costs about €40m per year. Over €50m is needed for the needs of the Army until the end of this year.
