Serbian postal company seeks strategic partner for investment in Internet network and cable distribution system

The Serbian national postal company Posta Srbije (PTT) will be looking for a strategic partner in the following period for the joint provision of services in the domains of Internet and cable distribution system (CDS), with the aim of rendering the new Post Multimedia service over the period of next 15 years, the Managing Board of that company decided at the yesterday's session.

The strategic partner should invest in the current and investment maintenance of the existing CDS network and Internet infrastructure, which is still a property of PTT.

Besides, the partner should also invest in the expansion of the new network acquired through construction or purchase from other entities as a fixed asset and then utilized for new services. In order to select a strategic partner for the next 15 years, PTT will announce a public tender and organize a public auction.

Mutual rights and obligations will be determined by an agreement, based on which a new service called Post Multimedia will be rendered, with the aim of further development of services of analogue and digital television and radio programs, Internet and other interactive, multimedia services.

Members of the Managing Board also made a decision on the price list for the new service of PTT - Postexport - Export of Goods, whereas the promo campaign "Cable TV for One Dinar" will be extended until December 31st because of the big interest expressed by users. At the yesterday's meeting, the Managing Board also made the decision on the introduction of a new service - SI - Safe Internet, which is intended for juristic persons who use ADSL.

This service includes the issuance of a qualified electronic certificate under the condition that the user agrees to use ADSL service during the period of minimum 12 months. The future users of Postexport service who sign an agreement for the period of one year and choose to use the service Safe Internet will be charged RSD 1 per month for the use of that service during the first three months.
