The Bankruptcy Supervision Agency has announced that the conditions have met for the Belgrade-based company Vrenje to be pronounced the purchaser of Prva srpska fabrike secera Dimtrije Tucovic 1898.

The public bidding for that Belgrade-based company in bankruptcy was held on June 11, when Vrenje made the best bid of RSD 690 million, and the initial price was around 680 million.

– As the Republic of Serbia, in line with the Law on Cultural Heritage, did not use the right of first refusal, the conditions have met for pronouncing the best bidder at the public auction as the purchaser – the agency says.

The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, said, after Stara Secerana in Cukarica was sold for RSD 690 million at the public bidding, that it was obvious that the bankruptcy supervisor had rushed to sell the complex for a low price, but added that the state had the right of first refusal and that he was convinced that the state would use it so that the space would be revitalized and preserved.

Stara Secerana has 18 pieces of real estate, and among the facilities is the one housing the KPGT Theater, protected by the state.

Vrenje, which has the same address as Secerana, is a company registered for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings.

The media write that the company is known for a range of jobs it has done for the state, including the reconstruction of the police building in Ljermontova Street.
