Tender for procurement of another 150 new buses for GSP Beograd by end-year announced

The City of Belgrade is planning to open the tender for the procurement of an additional 150 buses by the end of the year, announced the president of the City Assembly, Nikola Nikodijevic, on RTS.

– Our idea is to order 150 new buses now and to open another tender for the procurement of an additional 150 by the end of the year, which, together with the 100 new ones that we procured last year, would make up a total of 400 new buses – said Nikodijevic, as reported by Beoinfo.

He added that the obligation of private transporters would be to procure new buses as well.

– Along with that, we are also to sign new agreements with private transporters, by which we will oblige them to get new buses, so that the number of new buses would increase to 700. Since these are agreements for several years and since we are paying private transporters per kilometer, I believe that we will have enough money to lease new vehicles. For a number of years, the age of the vehicles has been a big problem and that is why our policy is for the average age of the vehicles in GSP not to be higher than a few years, from next year – pointed out Nikodijevic.

Let us remind, one bid was sent in response to the tender of GSP Beograd for the procurement of 100 articulated buses, same as for the purchase of 50 single vehicles, and as can be seen based on the records of the opening of the bids that eKapija has had an insight into, both bids pertain to Turkish bus manufacturers.
