Nis visited by around 17,000 tourists in May

In May this year, 17,048 tourists visited Nis, which is around 1,200 people more compared to the same month last year, as shown by the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia. There were more local tourists, and as for Niska Banja, it is still not among the “popular” spas and it had only 639 visitors.

In Serbia, in May 2024, compared to May last year, the number of tourist arrivals is 16.9% higher, whereas the number of overnight stays is 14.0% higher.

The numbers are higher in Nis as well – the number of arrivals in May was 17,048, whereas last year, there were 15,803 tourists, and the number of overnight stays, which amounted to 29,846 last year, is now at 34,022. In May, Nis was visited more by local tourists (9,324) than foreign ones (7,724).

According to the statistics, since the beginning of the year, 55,430 tourists have passed through Nis.

Niska Banja is still not among the favorite destinations for spa tourism, as it was visited by 639 tourists in May, who had 3,278 overnight stays there.
