Production of solar photovoltaic panels begins at Domi Eko Solar factory in Velika Plana

The Domi Eko Solar factory is the first factory in Serbia to start producing photovoltaic panels.

The production facility is located in Velika Plana, along the Belgrade-Nis highway, on 1.4 hectares of land in the industrial zone, on an area of 5,300 square meters.

Over EUR 10 million was invested in the construction of the factory, and the solar panels can be used for the production of electrical energy for the needs of households, but also large public facilities.

The factory currently employs 30 workers.

– The planned annual capacity is 10 megawatts (MW) on an annual level, and in the coming period, there is the possibility of an investment for the expansion of the capacities to a production of 300 MW – the factory’s co-owner Milorad Rajovic told the Beta news agency.

He added that the further plans for the expansion of the production capacities will depend on the demand for solar photovoltaic panels in the local and foreign markets.

The increase in the number of the workers also depends on that, so the plan is for the number of production workers at the factory to be increased to 120 with the expansion of the capacities.

– In line with the green agenda, which is now a must, and no longer a trend, and within all the big investment projects that are carried out in Serbia, we believe that renewable energy sources are also a part of all those projects, where we want to impose ourselves as the best option, a unique local product and brand, and show that there are people in Serbia capable of following the latest world technologies in every aspect – pointed out Rajovic.
