Statistical Office: GDP of Serbia in first quarter 4.7%, compared to same period in 2023

The real GDP growth in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounted to 4.7%, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia. According to seasonally adjusted GDP data, gross domestic product increased by 0.8% in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the previous quarter.

In the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the biggest real growth of the GDP was realized in the sector of construction, 14.2%.

In the sector of wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; transportation and storage and accommodation and food service activities, the real growth in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, was 7.3%, and in the sector of industry and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, it was 2.9%.
