Djedovic Handanovic: Investments in mining equipment at this moment at EUR 450 million

Investments in new mining equipment in our country amount to over EUR 450 million at the moment, pointed out the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, while visiting the works at the Mining Basin Kolubara. She specified that the investments pertained to the procurement of new mining equipment and the revitalization of the existing one, the opening of backup production capacities, and all to the end of securing the necessary preconditions for an unobstructed exploitation of coal for open-pit mines.

– The construction of two excavators and side systems, which is in progress at the Mining Basin Kolubara, is one of the most important projects in the energy sector. Investments in mining mechanization should enable us to open new mines, get to new quantities of coal and a better quality of this energy source. That is of vital importance for the energy sector, so that we would also have a greater energy security and stability of the production of coal, and with that, our thermal power plants as well! – the minister pointed out at the Mining Basin Kolubara, where the mining equipment which will enable an increased and more stable production of the overburden and the coal is being built at the moment, the minister announced on her social network profiles.
