The first "Vip" base station with a hybrid-powered set of Begaljica

"VIP" has put its first base station with a hybrid power supply into operation, on the location of the hill Rajčevo, near Begaljica, which works on the principle of renewable energy sources, with no mains electricity. Electricity, essential for the performance of each cell tower, is obtained by converting the natural energy of the sun and wind that do not have a negative impact on the environment.

- By setting environmental base station we helped providing mobile phone signals in remote and inhospitable locations where there is no electricity grid. The hybrid base station that is fully powered by natural energy sources is the proof that responsible behavior toward the environment in which we live and work at the same time preserves the environment and reduces operating costs - Darko Parun, Board of "VIP" charge technique said.

The hybrid system consists of three basic components - solar panels, wind turbines, as well as containers for storing batteries, and other telecommunication equipment.

Each component is a separate product that can be modularly adjusted to the demands of consumption, but also to the weather conditions on the site, so that base station provides the signal at any time.

Alternative power supply control system provides maximum utilization of solar energy and wind power necessary for the operation of the base station, as well as for the battery charging by which it works at night and on cloudy days without wind.

This is the first "green" base stations in a planned series of "Vip."
