One Fourth of Business People Who Filed Requests for Land Conversion Want to Build Apartments – Two Thirds Plan to Invest in Production Expansion

The possibility of the conversion of land without a fee has freed the potential for investments in over 5,000 locations in the country, stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

– At the moment, in the locations where it is possible to carry out a conversion without a fee, investments worth EUR 88 million are planned, only eight months from the beginning of the implementation of the law. That is nearly three times more than the 30 million that Serbia earned in the 12 years of the application of the institution of conversion with a fee – Vesic wrote on Facebook.

The latest NALED survey has shown that 66% of those who have filed requests for conversion plan to invest in the expansion of the production capacities.


– It was precisely the impossibility of land conversion that was the biggest obstacle to the expansion of capacities and further investments for many companies – said Vesic.

One fourth, that is, 25% of those who have filed requests, plan to build residential facilities.

– As many as 90% of the business people are satisfied with the adopted amendments to this law and say that they will have a positive impact on their business operations – the minister writes.
