The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, signed the Agreement on the business-technical cooperation of that ministry with the Mihajlo Pupin Institute in the field of road and rail transport and pointed out that he intended to include that institute in all the strategic projects that the ministry did.

The first such project, as he said, will be to install road toll collection on first-grade roads.

Vesic added that the institute would also work with Telekom Srbija on transforming existing highways into smart highways.

– In the time when Serbia is building roads and rails of the 21st century, it is important for our science to follow that – said Vesic.

He added that, together with the institute, they would work on building railroads toward Skopje and Thessaloniki and rebuilding existing regional railroads.
