Regular brooms can also be made with the help of new technologies. An example is Kanjiza-based Cleanex Brooms, which exports over 90 percent of its products to the European Union. This production by modern standards has also been backed by the Government of Vojvodina.

Vojvodina Prime Minister Dr. Bojan Pajtic and Provincial Secretary for Science and Technological Development Prof. Dr. Dragoslav Petrovic visited on June 28th Cleanex Brooms' factory in Kanjiza where the production of brooms has been renewed.

- Over the last four years, through the Programme of new technologies and new materials, we have employed 21,000 people at 89 production plants in all municipalities in Vojvodina. The broom factory is not a high-technology plant, but we have rescued the factory that was ruined, employed 85 people directly and indirectly, enabled the export of 90 percent of the products from that factory, and hired numerous agricultural manufacturers who collaborate with this industry - said Dr. Bojan Pajtic and added that the Province had provided about 40 percent of the required funds for that project.

The investment value of the factory modernization project is RSD 28,776,500, RSD 9,800,000 of which have been provided by the Government of AP Vojvodina through a programme of the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development .

The factory of brooms in Kanjiza was built in 1958. The company Cleanex Brooms became the owner of that factory after the privatization. Before that, the production of brooms at that factory was halted. The strategic partner of this company is Slovakia's Cleanex.

Yuri Krizhov, director and co-owner of Cleanex Brooms, and Roman Neuwirth, owner of Slovakia's Cleanex, said that their aim was to revive the production of millet brooms in Kanjiza and preserve the tradition of that area. Millet brooms, according to their words, is in high demand and easily finds its way to the buyers all around Europe.
