Zlatibor Convention Bureau to Be Founded – Planning to Attract Big Congresses from Region and Europe

The most visited Serbian mountain has decided to dedicate itself seriously to the development of congress tourism – the Zlatibor Convention Bureau is to be founded, and the construction of the Congress Center, with a congress hall with 2,000 seats, halls for receptions, dinners, cocktail dinners, an accommodation part of a smaller capacity, as well as a range of side features, has been announced as well.

The Zlatibor Convention Bureau, modeled after the Serbia Convention Bureau, will be a special department within the Tourism Organization, which was announced by the director of the Tourism Organization of Zlatibor, Vladimir Zivanovic, in the electronic publication of TO Zlatibor. According to him, congress tourism, which is increasingly represented with each year, is giving a great contribution to the even tourism turnover on Zlatibor.

– Having recognized the great potential and the excellent conditions that our mountain has in this tourism segment, we have decided to found the Zlatibor Convention Bureau in the coming period. The aim of the forming of the Convention Bureau is a unified and all-encompassing development, promotion and positioning of Zlatibor as the leading destination in the field of congress tourism of Serbia, and even the region – announces Zivanovic.

As he says, the Zlatibor Convention Bureau will unify the offer of the mountain’s congress tourism, gather all the hotels, tourism agencies, organizers of various activities around the main task – to attract large and important congresses to Zlatibor.

– To have the big organizers of business gatherings from the whole Europe see how Zlatibor can offer the highest-standard service and establish itself as their first choice when selecting the destination for their business event – Zivanovic notes.

The director of TO Zlatibor points out that the hotel owners in Zlatibor realized on time the importance of congress tourism and that they have been successfully cooperating with each other for years.

– If, during a large gathering, the hotel’s capacities for accommodating all the participants are not sufficient or the hotel is not capable to fulfill the gathering’s organizer’s demands in any way, some of the other hotels will gladly let their capacities be used. And that’s what’s most important: good mutual cooperation, camaraderie and awareness of the importance of the development of congress tourism – emphasizes Zivanovic.

In addition to founding the Congress Bureau, the plan is to start building a large congress center, a multifunctional facility with a congress hall with 2,000 seats, halls for receptions, dinners, cocktail dinners, an accommodation part of a smaller capacity, as well as a range of side features.
