The 2024 Budget plans less than 6% of the tax revenues of Serbia for the next year for agriculture and it amounts to RSD 104.7 billion, which is RSD 9.6 billion lower compared to this year’s budget revision, stated Marija Filipovic of the budget sector of the Ministry of Finance.

– Of the total subsidy expenditures, the most has been set aside for agriculture, namely 48%, that is, RSD 88 billion. The biggest expenditures are for the Directorate for Agrarian Payments, RSD 64 billion, and that is the money for subsidies for the producers through premiums for milk, incentives for plant and livestock production and similar activities – Filipovic said at the session of the Committee for Agriculture of the National Assembly of Serbia.

She said that slightly over RSD 6 billion was meant for the IPARD measures, around RSD 8 billion for the rural development measures, and slightly over RSD 3 billion for the Veterinary Directorate, that is, for the protection of animals’ health. As she said, the budget for the next year plans total expenditures of RSD 2,237 billion, and income and earnings are planned in the amount of RSD 2,041 billion, or 7.2% more than envisaged in this year’s budget revision.

Filipovic clarified that the expenditures were planned, among other things, to increase salaries and pensions, to build the biggest infrastructure facilities, to mitigate the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

– In the structure of the total revenues, the tax revenues comprise RSD 1,758 billion, or 86%, and non-tax ones 246.6 billion, that is, 12.1%. The projected deficit is 2.2% of the gross domestic product, and the public debt is reduced and, but the end of the year, kept at the level of 51.7% of the GDP – she said.
