The Municipality of Kladovo has put the draft detailed regulation plan for the construction of the solar power plant Kladovo Solar Gate up for public inspection.

The plan was available for early public inspection last autumn, and the investor is ERG Renewables doo Beograd, founded in 2019, whose owner, ERG Investments LTD, is registered in Cyprus.

The construction of panels of around 300 MW is envisaged, and the plan encompasses an area of around 582.94 ha in the eastern part of the territory of the municipality of Kladovo, 5 km from the town center, within the cadaster municipalities of Vajuga, Kladovo, Kladusnica, Podvrska and Recica.

As said, this is mostly agricultural land, lower-quality farming land for the most part. The plan emphasizes that, in the solar power plant area, it is possible to implement innovative solutions, that is, the agri-solar concept, which entails livestock farming or agricultural production with the simultaneous production of electrical energy.

– The implementation of solar panels, which partially, in a certain percentage, let sunlight through, enables the protection of agricultural cultures from extreme weather conditions, but also, the installation of solar panels above agricultural cultures or the use of the space for livestock farming prevents the potential conflict when agricultural land is used for the production of electrical energy. In order for this to be made possible, in the area of the solar power plant, it is allowed to build structures in the function of agricultural production, livestock farms etc. – the document says.

The detailed regulation plan was prepared by Arhiplan doo Arandjelovac.
