Maximum Price of Electricity from Wind Farms at Auctions to Be EUR 105 per MWh – Slightly Lower for Solar Power Plants

The maximum offered price for electrical energy for the needs of auctions for wind farms in the market premium system amounts to EUR 105/MWh, whereas for solar power plants, it is EUR 90/MWh, says the decision of the Government of Serbia.

The Government of Serbia recently also proscribed the quota in the market premium system for solar power plants. The quota for solar power plants with an approved power of 500 kW and above amounts to a total of 50 MW.

Let us remind that the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic, recently announced that the plan was for auctions to open in June which would bring new local “green megawatts” to Serbia’s energy system.

– Also, we are in the process of adopting a three-year auction plan, which, along with wind farms, also includes solar energy, which is an important message to potential investors in solar projects – the minister said during her conversation with representatives of the RES Serbia Association.

RES Serbia representatives pointed out that they gathered the biggest producers of electrical energy from renewable sources and that, in the past years, they had made the biggest contribution to increasing the share of electrical energy from renewable sources.

They notified minister Djedovic about the interest of their members in taking part in the coming auctions and emphasized that they had at least 500 MW in wind capacities.

At the meeting, it was agreed that there were numerous requests for connecting to the transfer network, which burdened the functioning of Elektromreza Srbije, and that it was important to increase the capacities of the transfer system so as to realize a greater share of RES in the energy system.
