Information Technology School becomes part of ComTrade Group - IT High School as of September

The company ComTrade (www.comtrade.com) announced on Tuesday that the Information Technology School (ITS) had become part of ComTrade Group and that the Information Technology High School (ITHS) would be opened on September 1st.

At a press conference in Belgrade, ComTrade President Veselin Jevrosimovic said that the investment in a higher education institution was a result of the awareness of significance of education for a business success, as well as for a long-term sustainable development of the national economy.

According to his words, the graduates of ITS (www.its.edu.rs) acquire the status of complete IT experts, while the best among them will be offered a job at ComTrade or some other global companies such as HP, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Fujitsu.

Aside from the classical system of learning, students will also be offered the option of distance learning, via the Internet, Mr. Jevrosimovic explained.

ITS Dean Valentin Kuleto said that ComTrade IT School and IT High School represented a complete seven-year system of expert education. .

According to him, the aim of ITS is to attract both domestic students and students from abroad because that school offers excellent conditions for studying, lectures given by the most famous domestic and foreign lecturers, as well as internships at the world's largest IT companies.

Mr. Kuleto stated that the first generation of students would be enrolled in ITHS in autumn, while ITS would educate the fifth generation of students in 2011. As he explained, a total of 700 students are planned to be enrolled in the school in the first phase of the school system development.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic praised ComTrade for taking over IT because that would enable students to study and work and gain experience in that way.

Pointing out that 28% of the EU budget was earmarked for information technologies, he stressed that Serbia had determined IT as one of the seven national priorities.

- Out of the total of EUR 400 million earmarked for the development of science, a significant share will be invested in information technologies - said Mr. Djelic.

The IT company ComTrade is one of the largest groups in the field of information and communication technologies in Southeast Europe and it is present in 12 countries of the EU and in the USA. ComTrade has three technology centers and 10 development centers with about 1,500 employees, about 1,000 of whom are software engineers.
