Task Force for financing of gas infrastructure in Southeast Europe in Belgrade, NIS suggests 2 projects, €250m


On March 10 and 11, 2005, in Belgrade, representatives of Ministry of Mining and Energy and Petroleum Industry of Serbia will try to persuade representatives of European Union and foreign banks to invest in introduction of gas in Serbia. The first meeting of the Task Force for Financing of Gas Infrastructure in Southeast Europe will be held in the next two days in Belgrade.
Bratislav Čeperković, counselor in Permanent Mission of EU to SCG in Brussels, says that Serbia is the first country in Southeast Europe to deliver gas introduction action plan. The countries from this region will suggest their projects and EU will decide which of them will be supported and financed.
NIS will suggests two projects - construction of underground warehouse for coal near Banatski Dvor and gas line Niš - Dimitrovgrad. The first phase of warehouse construction requires about €50m, whereas the entire job is worth about €200m, while gas line costs about €50m.
