In a joint charity campaign, the group of countries that comprises the UNIQA SEE region, and which consists of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria, together donated EUR 16,000 to SOS Children’s Villages and other organizations which, in each of the countries, care for children without parental care and help families going through crises to stay together.

With this socially responsible campaign, UNIQA Osiguranje continue the tradition of investing in the community, providing support to the youngest ones, to whom help is necessary, at the same time emphasizing the importance of empathy and compassion toward the most vulnerable categories of the society.

Relying on the strategy “UNIQA 3.0 – Seed of the Future”, within which care for the community is among the leading business principles, UNIQA strives to have a positive effect on its environment and improve the environment it operates in.

In order to delight children and make holidays more beautiful for them, in Santa Claus’ spirit, the initiative was joined by the employees at UNIQA Osiguranje, giving gift packages, books, toys and sweets to children throughout the region.

Representatives of UNIQA Osiguranje in Serbia handed over a check worth EUR 3,500 and gift packages to children which are helped by SOS Children’s Villages Serbia.

– With these gift packages, we will delight the children, and the monetary funds will be invested in improving the living conditions for children included in the Family Strengthening Programs of the SOS Children’s Villages Serbia Foundation. In line with the values that the company fosters, employees at UNIQA Osiguranje believe in solidarity with the most vulnerable social groups, which they also show through their actions, and they approach the creation of charity initiatives responsibly, with the aim of making our environment a better and more humane place for living – stated Sonja Maric, Brand and Communications Manager at UNIQA Osiguranje in Serbia and SEE Regional Senior Leader.

On behalf of the SOS Children’s Villages Foundation, the check was received by Danijela Barjaktarovic, Manager of the Family Strengthening Program. This program strives to help families in crises, in order to keep them together, in the belief that the family is the best place for a child to grow up in. Since 2013, this Program has supported over 900 families and 2,000 children and the young, and as a result of the dedicated work, 98% of the families included in the Program have managed to secure the basic living conditions for their children’s development within their families.

Care for the community is one of the leading principles of the operations of UNIQA Osiguranje and the company will continue initiating various socially responsible activities directed at improving the living conditions in the communities it operates in.
