At the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), the local company ProTent Obrenovac and the Polish company SBB Energy signed the agreement on strategic partnership with the aim of establishing long-term business cooperation, implementation of technologies and scientific achievements for the purpose of upgrading the efficiency of the energy system of Serbia and harmonizing with the EU regulations, as well as a joint venture in the market.

The agreement was signed by the director of ProTent, Slobodan Vujicic, and the president of the Management Board of SBB Energy, Ziemowit Slomczynski, in the presence of the president of the CCIS, Marko Cadez, and the minister advisor at the Embassy of Poland in Serbia, Anna Perl.

SBB Energy is known for environmental protection technologies, such as installations for the reduction of the emission of nitrogen oxides or desulfuring.

As pointed out, the cooperation with the Serbian company will enable the realization of complex projects in energy, ecology and the decarbonization process.

ProTent employs over 8,000 workers, provides services in the field of electrical-mechanical maintenance and repair, environmental protection, consulting and engineering, maintenance of fire devices and installations and others.

The director of ProTent, Slobodan Vujicic, said that 95% of the company’s activities pertained to operations with Elektroprivreda Srbije and that they specialized in thermal power facilities and all the works on thermal power plants.

– Knowing what awaits our energy sector, such as the adaptation to the EU standards and protocols, the cooperation with SBB Energy is not only good for us, but also for the entire thermal power sector of the country – he said.

The president of the CCIS, Marko Cadez, pointed out that the partnership was in the interest of both the Serbian and the Polish company.

– To the Serbian company, the agreement will bring the know-how, the much-needed technology for reducing nitrogen oxides, desulfuring and pollution reduction in line with EU standards – he said.

He added that, to the Serbian company, the partnership would enable experience and references for numerous projects, but also allow it to participate as part of a consortium in big international tenders.

Cadez expects other companies from Serbia to be involved in those jobs as suppliers.

– I hope that the next joint step could be joint production – Cadez said.

The representative of the Polish embassy, Anna Perl, emphasized that the economic exchange of the two countries was at a historic high and that the agreement opened a new cooperation chapter.

Perl hopes that other companies would follow this example and recognize potential for cooperation, especially in the fields of alternative energy sources, innovations and sustainable development.
