– According to the internal calculation of Srbijagas, the price of that energy source in Serbia should increase 11%, which would apply from January 1, 2023. That will still be almost the lowest price in Europe, which would still be subsidized by the state – Bajatovic said for TV Happy.
He added that the price increase was necessary so that Srbijagas would be liquid and so that it could get loans and said that it was also necessary because of the arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, which would require an increase in the prices of both gas and electricity.
Bajatovic said that the increase in the prices of electricity and gas would not be big, but such that even those who earn the minimum wage could pay the bill and the utility bill.
The gas supplies that have been secured at storage sites so far, according to him, were paid thanks to the liquidity of the budget.
Serbia, he said, had secured another two billion cubic meters of gas from Russia according to the oil formula, and 1.2 billion from other sources.
