The protocol on cooperation between two of the best tourist villages of the world for 2021, Solcava in the Republic of Slovenia and Mokra Gora in Serbia, was signed in Uzice.

The agreement was signed by Danijela Djordjevic Arsic, the director of the Tourism Organization of Uzice, and Darija Kne of the Rinka Center, the Public Institute for Tourism and Sustainable Development of Solcava.

At the end of last year, the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, based in Madrid, awarded the titles of the best tourism villages in the world in a competition of over 170 applicants from 75 countries, with Mokra Gora and Solcava among the recipients.

As time passed, the idea was born about the cooperation of Mokra Gora and Solcava and that cooperation officially started with the signing of the Protocol on Cooperation, according to the website of the City of Uzice.

– I honestly believe that the Protocol will have the function of upgrading the cooperation of Mokra Gora and Solcava to the highest level through the implementation of the knowledge, examples of good practice, experiences, information about tourism, culture, tradition, ecology, agriculture. I am convinced that joint projects will also be realized with the support of EU funds, that the public, private and civilian sectors will connect, all to the end of promoting and improving the development of tourism, in both Mokra Gora and Solcava. Each cooperation is also a way for our peoples to get closer and learn about each other, to build bridges of friendship and understanding. In this particular case, it is also enriched by the common goal of justifying the name of the most beautiful village in the world and ensuring an even better promotion of our tourist destinations – said the mayor of Uzice, Jelena Rakovic Radivojevic.
