The Office for IT and eGovernment has put into operation the first DWDM system produced in Serbia, at the company Iritel. The platform is a multiservice optical data transfer system, and it was first established between the State Data Center in Belgrade and the Palace of Serbia.

The next relation, which is to be established soon, aims to connect the two State Data Centers in Belgrade and Kragujevac using the same technology, whereby the full DWDM optical ring will be established, the Government of Serbia announced.

The capacity of the DWDM optical transport platform is currently at 80 wavelengths, each of 100 Gbps, which will meet the communications needs of the users of the State Data Centers, that is, the public administration organs.

– The establishment of the DWDM optical transport system enables a much higher capacity and throughput of the network. Also, we used the local skills and knowledge of our best engineers, because the entire system was technologically developed and produced in Serbia – stated the director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanovic.
