First Steps Toward Preparing Hydrogen Strategy of the Republic of Serbia

The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), in cooperation with representatives of the economy and the science community, and with the support of the German International Organization for Cooperation (GIZ), will work on preparing the Draft of the Hydrogen Strategy so that Serbia would be positioned as easily as possible on the map of producers of green hydrogen and start implementing it in industrial production.

– The production of hydrogen, a new source of energy in Serbia, will be part of the energy development strategy until 2050, whereby our country will become one of the leaders in this field. Twelve EU states have adopted their strategies, and another ten countries in Europe are preparing them, so this step puts Serbia among the countries which have a responsible attitude toward the problem of decarbonization and energy security – says Igor Kronja, advisor to the president of the CCIS, a member of the work group for the preparation of the strategy.

– The CCIS will form a cluster made of representatives of the economy and the scientific community, who will work on developing the human resources and technologies for the production of hydrogen, so that this field would develop as fast as possible and be applicable in the industry – Kronja points out.
