The German airline Lufthansa has announced the cancelation of numerous flights from Frankfurt to cities throughout former Yugoslavia, due to a continuous lack of staff, reported SEEbiz.

The cancellations will reflect on the services related to the flights from Frankfurt to Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana and Sarajevo, but the operations from Munich toward these destinations will remain unchanged for now.

From September, this airline is canceling 8% of all flights in the inter-European network. Eight flights between Frankfurt and Belgrade will be cancelled that month. Instead of the planned 60 flights, 52 will be realized.

Lufthansa is also canceling eight flights to Zagreb in September, so there will be a total of 44 flights instead of the previously announced 52. In Ljubljana, which has managed to avoid the majority of summer flight cancelations, only four flights are canceled, with a total of 56 planned flights between Frankfurt and the capital of Slovenia, down from 60. Sarajevo will be the least affected, considering that only one flight of the 29 planned has been canceled.

This summer, Lufthansa is affected by flight cancelation due to a lack of staff. The problem additionally worsened last month, when their ground employees went into strike over dissatisfaction with the salaries and other work conditions.
