According to the business plan, 40% more biscuits should be produced in the factory of Vrbas-based confectioner Medela in 2011, that is, about 6 kg of candies should be produced and sold next year, reads the company's statement. People at Medela justify this ambitious plan with the fact that the number of consumers of Medela's confectioneries in the market is constantly growing.

The most famous brand of this factory is, surely, strudel, which is present in both domestic and foreign market for more than three decades. Production of wholemeal strudel, tea biscuits and diet cookies is also in the pipeline, reads the statement.

- Medela's product portfolio today comprises over 120 different articles, about 55% of which are strudels, 25% are waffle products, while 20% are other products with cocoa topping, cocktails.... - says Olivera Verac, the Director General of Medela, and adds that she expects the strudel sales to grow by 20% in 2011.

According to Olivera Verac, the production growth will be made possible thanks to an investment in the new equipment that will ensure the premium quality of strudel and the maximum investment in the new design of the packaging.

- Medela is an export-oriented company that exports about 60% of the production – Ms. Verac explains.

- Our products can be found in the markets of Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and some other countries. One of the primary goals of Medela is to keep the existing foreign markets and to use the quality of its ready-made products and packaging to conquer new markets in Western Europe and the Near East.

As it has been announced, Medela wants to keep developing a positive trend and achieving positive results. Its final goal is the production of quality and healthy products, a proof of which is the certificate that enables the company to use the stamp "Healthy Food - Green Apple".
