Factory of ceramic tiles in Bela Crkva on auction block in November - Starting price of 250,000 euros

- Factory of ceramic tiles 25. maj in Bela Crkva will go on auction block in November, with the starting price of 250,000 euros - Vojislav Stevanovic, amember of the Municipal Investment Council, announced for eKapija.

He said that that company in bankruptcy was occupying the surface of 165,000 square meters of equipped land (junctions, substations, low-voltage and high-voltage grids, plumbing and sewerage) in an exceptionally attractive location near the city lake.

- The surface of the facility is 17,000 square meters, the height of the halls is 7,000 meters, while the complex also comprises an administrative building. The factory is ideal for the processing industry, ULO cold storage plant, warehouse, service shops - said Stevanovic.

Let us remind that the bankruptcy proceedings in Factory of ceramic tiles 25. may were initiated in July before the Commercial Court in Pancevo, after the workers paid the required amount for launching the procedure.

Concerning the fact that the last attempt at selling the factory was unsuccessful, there was a possibility, pursuant to the Law on Privatization, of transferring the factory to the possession of of the state because the privatization procedure had not been started prior to June 16. That possibility was the most unfavorable for the workers so that they decided to do what they can to avoid that.

When 25. maj was built in the 1970's, it was considers the initiator of development of the municipality of Bela Crkva, which was also poor at that time. However, it quickly turned out it was a complete failure. Due to the debts to its workers, Privredna Banka Pancevo, DDOR and other creditors, public calls for sale have been announced on several occasions. The last unsuccessful attempt was on June 11, 2010. Its starting price was about 70 million dinars, but it was reduced to about 50m at the suggestion of lawyer Slavenko Simic. None of the two present interested parties was able to participate in the procedure because, as it was said, they did not pay the required deposit.
