The National Assembly of Serbia has adopted amendments to the Law on Patents, for the purpose of harmonization with the most recent EU regulations.

The minister of economy of Serbia, Andjelka Atanaskovic, said during the discussion that the amendments pertained to the field of certificates on additional protection and protection of inventions by small patents.

Atanaskovic said that the regime of protection of small patents would be changed, and the legal basis for issuing patent specification in an electronic form is proscribed as well.
