Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic said yesterday that €18.5 million would be allocated from IPA funds of the EU for all projects on the Danube planned for the next year.

During a visit to Zrenjanin, where he met with Mayor Mile Mihajlov and Dean of Mihajlo Pupin Technical Faculty Milan Pavlovic, Djelic announced that funds for wastewater cleaning in the city would be provided by the end of 2010, and also announced resolving of the issues related to landfill.

He pointed out that the Technical Faculty would receive support and assistance for its innovation center, recalling the great success of a student team from that faculty, which won second place in software development at an international competition in Poland organized by the company Microsoft in June 2010.

Djelic added that the Ministry would set aside €800 million by 2014 for scholarships for young scientists.
