It is a train launched by the European Union as part of the celebration of the European Year of Railways in 2021, and it will pass through 26 countries of the old continent in a little over a month.
"Connecting Europe Express" arrived in Belgrade from Croatia via Sid, and representatives of the European Commission, as well as media representatives, arrived in Serbia by this train.
At the Belgrade Center railway station, European officials were welcomed by representatives of the Serbian Railway Infrastructure, led by Executive Director Milutin Milosevic, Director of the Transport Community Matej Zakonjsek, and associates, as well as representatives of the Srbija Voz railway company.
This train also includes a wagon with an exhibition on the most important projects and comparative advantages of the European railway. It was jointly visited by representatives of the European Commission and the Serbian Railway Infrastructure.
The international train continues its journey from Belgrade via Presevo and Tabanovac to North Macedonia and Greece.
"Connecting Europe Express" departed Lisbon on September 2, and the final stop on October 7 is Paris. This project is implemented by the Association of European Railways and Infrastructure Companies (CER).
