Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and

Mayor Gorica Dincic-Tasic signed a Protocol today (August 25, 2010) on realization
and financing of the "Natural History Center" project in that city, worth €5
million.
The Natural History Center, at about 3,000 square meters, will work as a part of the Science Promotion Center and will be financed with the funds from the European Investment Bank (EIB) intended for research and development in the public sector, which are placed at the disposal of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development.
- Serbian government supports this project in order to bring science closer to the young and simultaneously create a new economic base for Svilajnac municipality - said Djelic and pointed out that science and technology should not be concentrated only in Belgrade and other major cities
- Construction of the center will begin in September 2010, and it is planned to be finished prior to May 2011 - it was said at the signing ceremony.
Upon its completion, it will be the only center of its kind in Serbia and a unique scientific and educational institution in the Balkans, while its exhibitions will make it unique in eastern Europe as well. This center will have an exhibition space with eight replicas of dinosaurs and 45 original exhibits.
As eKapija wrote earlier, eggs of of hadrosaurs, a scull of protoceratop, tails of glyptodons and flying dinosaurs are only some of the exhibits that the visitors of unique Natural History Center will be able to see in Svilajnac.
