Government Adopts Proposition of Law on Consumer Protection – New Features

– The most important new features in this proposition pertain to the implementation of the “Ne zovi” register, the implementation of the obligation of the trader to make a calculation in providing a service and the establishment of a register of consumer disputes at courts. Also, the proposition entails the further harmonization with EU regulations in the field of tourism, the improvement of the mechanism of out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes and misdemeanor warrants for certain offences made by traders – Matic said.
The minister reminded that the realization of the IPA 2018 EU project “Boosting Consumer Protection in Serbia in Response to New Market Challenges”, which should further secure consumer protection and harmonization with EU acquis, began on June 9, 2021.
