Kon Tiki Sky takes off - MAT Airways operated its first official flight

MAT Airways, the airline owned by Serbian companies, has successfully operated its first official flight from Belgrade to Corfu with Boeing 737 500 airplane. The airplane with 120 seats exclusively transported the passengers of travel agency Kon Tiki Travel who will, from now on, be able to travel by airplane to numerous destinations around the world, including Greece, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Tunis...

The airplane of Kon Tiki Sky was bought at the auction on November 5, 2009, in London. All checks were done and they confirmed that the airplane was safe for flying, after which the license was issued by the authorized institutions.

- We are the company that operates flights from Serbia as a part of Aviogenex, with which we have signed an agreement on rental of our airplane, so that it will practically be used under Aviogenex code in Serbia (AGX). Our strategic partner is travel agency Kon Tiki, which is a recognizable brand in Serbia and Macedonia. MAT Airways will be operating charter flight for Kon Tiki from Belgrade, while the offer is under preparation for Macedonian passengers who should be enabled to fly from Skopje starting August - said Darko Milačić, one of the investor of MAT Airways.

By purchasing the airplane to transport its own passengers, Kon Tiki has proved its ability to always be one step ahead of its competition, even after 20 years of successful operations, because the care and safety of passengers come first. Kon Tiki's responsibility is now even greater because it takes care of its passengers from the moment they enter the airplane until they return. In this way, Kon Tiki has come closer to the way in which world-famous tour-operators with their own airplanes do their businesses.

The opening of branch office Kon Tiki Sky in Skopje resulted from the need of Macedonian citizens for arrangements offered by our agency. The airplane is branded with new logo MAT Airways and the recognizable symbol of Kon Tiki, while the crew is made of experienced captains and stewardesses with long-time experience who will present the company's aims and mission in the best possible way.
