Expropriation of Land for Construction of Highway Section from Raca to Bijeljina Close to Completion

The director of the PE Autoputevi Republike Srpske, Dusan Topic, said this Friday that the expropriation of the land for the construction of the priority highway section from Raca to Bijeljina was close to completion.

Topic said that, parallel with the expropriation of the land, the public invitation for bids by companies interested in financing, designing and building a highway from Vukosavlje to Raca had also been opened.

At a press conference in Laktasi, he said that the section was divided into three lots – Vukosavlje-Brcko, Brcko-Bijeljina and Bijeljina-Raca. Topic said that the construction of the highway to Kladari near Doboj had been completed and added that the part of Corridor 5C toward the south to Doboj and the entity border was being done.

– We are negotiating with the European Investment Bank about a loan for the construction of the part of the highway to Kladari toward the north and Vukosavlje, 35 kilometers long, and this summer we should carry out the tender for the contractor – Topic said.

He says that the plan is for the agreements to be signed by the end of this year, so that the works would start in the spring. Topic said that the aim was for the construction of the highway to Serbia, all sections included, to start in the next two years, so that the project would be fully completed in 2025.

He said that the works on the construction of the bridge on the river Sava near Gradiska went as planned and that the bridge should be completed within the deadline, that is, by the spring of 2022.
