Microsoft announced Monday that it will buy speech recognition company Nuance Communications for USD19 billion.

According to CNBC, American technology giant will take over Nuance for USD 56 per share, about 23% above its closing price Friday.

The deal worth will reach about USD 19 billion, with debt included.

The purchase of Nuance represents the largest Microsoft acquisition since 2016, when it bought LinkedIn for more than USD 26 billion.

This is the latest sign of Microsoft's aspirations to boost its growth with acquisitions, after the takeover of ZeniMax for USD 7.6 billion was completed last month.

According to some media reports, Microsoft is reportedly in negotiations to buy the Discord chat app for about USD 10 billion.

The U.S. broadcast network reminds that Microsoft made an effort to buy TikTok’s U.S. business last year for about USD 30 billion before the deal was derailed by the former administration.
