Mitsubishi Corporation interested in soybean production in Serbia - representatives of VIP Fund came back from Japan


The Vojvodina Investment Promotion (VIP) Fund signed the Agreement on understanding with the Japanese Institute for Overseas Investments (JOI) on June 1st in Tokyo, which marked the beginning of the future economic cooperation between Japan and Vojvodina.
The visit of the delegation of Vojvodina to China and Japan was organized with the help of the Japanese Investors Advisory Council (JIAC), with which VIP Fund has already been intensively cooperating for few months and signed the Protocol on cooperation in January 2010.
The delegation of Vojvodina, of which members were Siniša Lazić, the Vice-Chairman of the Vojvodina Assembly, Finance Secretary Jovica Đukić, VIP Fund CEO Branislav Bugarski and Foreign Investments Adviser Sanda Emini, also held a series of presentations in Japan after the visit to the Shanghai EXPO and several meetings with the representatives of the Chinese government organizations and institutions.
The delegation had a meeting with the representatives of the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Forestry (MAFF), which expressed interest in institutional cooperation, exchange of information, and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector. The interest in this sector was also expressed by the representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation, the largest trade company in Japan, which is particularly interested in soybean production and cooperation with the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops NS Seme.
The presentations and meetings were also help in the Japan Machinery Federation (JMF), which gathers manufacturers from the sectors of mechanical and electrical industry, the industries of transportation equipment, high-precision mechanics and machine parts, as well as in Audit company KPMB, which operates in 146 countries world wide.
The Vojvodina delegation also talked with the representatives of the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) whose activities are focused on cross-border development promotion, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce, Japanese biggest bank Tokyo Mitubishi, as well as with the representatives of the Department for Central and East Europe within the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
